Fred A. Powell, 85, of Danvers passed away February 23, 2017. He was the loving husband of Marie ( Voke) Powell. Fred was born in Ironton, Wisconsin on Feb. 20 1932 and later graduated from the University of Wisconsin. Fred joined the U. S. Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. He met Marie formerly of Chelsea, MA at a Boston YMCA dance while his ship was in Dry Dock. They married in 1954 and were married over 62 years. They were always together and deeply in love. Fred worked in retail as a buyer with Jordan Marsh and Conrad & Chandler. He later worked with the Comm. Of MA. In the Employment Div. Fred enjoyed walking, usually 4 miles a day, travelling and politics. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Parish in Danvers. Besides Marie, Fred leaves a son James C. Powell and his wife Pamela of Amesbury, four grandchildren, Ryan M. Powell of Amesbury, Liam J. Powell, of NY., Patrick B.
