Franklin E. Timm, Sr., 91, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Westminster Village, Allentown. He was the husband of Helen (Nansteel) Timm, with whom he shared over 71 years of loving marriage. Born in Hamburg, NY, Frank was one of 9 children born to Carl F. and Anna E. (Milander) Timm. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for over 41 years, including 22 as a research technician at the Homer Research Labs, until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of Fritz Memorial United Methodist church, and served on the merger committee when St. Lukes Evangelical United Brethren church joined with others to create Fritz Memorial United Methodist church. He was also a past president of the Hellertown Sportsmens Association. Frank was a dedicated member and Past Master of the Hellertown Lodge #563 of Free and Accepted Masons, the Bethlehem Lodge #283, the Valley of Allentown Consistory, and the Rajah Shrine in Reading, PA. He was a longtime member of the Hiawatha Hunting and Fishing club, serving as a director for many years. After leaving the Club due to advancing age, he was granted lifetime hunting and fishing privileges, the first member in the 100 year history of the Club to be so honored. Survivors: his loving wife, Helen; daughters Darlene Yeakel and her husband Larry of Lehighton, Susan Kreno and her husband David of West Chester; son Franklin Timm, Jr., and his wife Nancy of Greentown; brother David Timm and his wife Lynn of Ocala, FL; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
