Franklin D Loughrie, 78 of Fellowsville, (Laurel Mountain Community), went home to be with the lord on Sunday, February 05, 2012 at his residence with his loving wife, Anita, daughter, Cindy and granddaughter, Beth by his side after a long illness. He was born April 11, 1933 in Rowlesburg, son of the late John Randolph and Freda Marie Adams Loughrie. Frankie attended Rowlesburg High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for St. Paul & Tacoma Lumber Co. and Aspen Tree Company. He was a contractor for the Consolidated Gas Company, and he was owner of Loughrie Trucking and Logging. He was a timber man and heavy equipment operator. Frankie was Boy Scout leader and one of the founders of the Fellowsville Fire Dept. He was a member of the Community Christian Church of Laurel Mountain, where he served as president for 18 years and was a leading member of their choir. He was a life time NRA member. Frankie was loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved gardening and enjoyed sharing what he grew. Frankie spent several hours at Cool Spring sharing stories with friends. He enjoyed spending time with his loving companion “Tag” the dog. Frankie is survived by his loving and caring wife, Anita Wolfe Loughrie of 53 years; three sons, Mark Lee Wolfe and wife Renee, Tunnelton, Dana Franklin Loughrie and wife Alpha, Terra Alta, Todd Allen Loughrie and wife Tuyen, Camden, NC; two daughters, Cindy Rosetta Ridenour and husband Brad, Tunnelton, Teresa Louise Lovejoy and husband Dean, Kingwood; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Loughrie, Rowlesburg. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Wiles; one brother, Walter “Sweet Pea” Loughrie.
