Those left to honor Tennessee’s memory are his wife, Betty of Newton; four sons, Fred Slatton of Pella, Iowa; Frank Slatton of Pella; Terry (Kim) Slatton of Richmond, Missouri; and Charles Slatton of Kellogg, Iowa; two daughters, Sharel Simbro and Friend, Denny Baker of Reasnor, Iowa; and Bertha Hanson and Friend, Craig Krall of Nashua, Iowa; his seven grandchildren and his two great-grandchildren; two brothers, R. B. (Carolyn) Slatton of Palmer, Tennessee; Horace Ray (Zella) Slatton of Palmer; and three sisters, Margie (Hollis) Smith of Whitwell, Tennessee; Rachel (William) Griffith of Griffith Creek, Tennessee; and Norna Mae (Rod) Campbell of Palmer; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Huston “Huke” and Bertha (Kilgore) Slatton and seven brothers and sisters.

Tennessee worked for 30+ years at the Maytag Company as a machinist, retiring in 1986.

Tennessee enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sports.
