Franklin Carl Specht of Caldwell, a resident of Sunny Slope for more than 50 years, died at his home at age 92 on October 29, 2016.
Specht, a Professor Emeritus, joined the faculty of the history department at The College of Idaho in 1958.
A Midwesterner, Specht was born in Valparaiso, Indiana, on February 8, 1924.
Specht is survived by one brother, Paul Specht of Chicago, a sister-in law, one nephew and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernhardt Marx and Catharine Franklin Specht, and a sister, Catharine Elmerdine Specht.
The endowed Franklin Specht Scholarships at the C of I have benefitted three history majors annually for a number of years.
