Frank W. Ake
Frank W. Ake, 97, passed away July 22, 2014 at Rose Lane Nursing Facility. He was born in Akron, Ohio to Catherine (nee Weir) and Norman E. Ake. He served his country during WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the 6th bomber group, Army Air Corp. He was stationed on Tinian island, the island that the Enola Gay bomber took off from on its mission over Hiroshima. Frank worked for All States Freight, PIE, and Suburban as a truck driver for 47 years. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and Teamsters member local 24. He was a long time member of Jackie Lee’s Fitness Center and the Good Sam and Avion Travel Clubs. Frank and Argia spent many years traveling with their RV seeing all of the states at least twice.
Frank is preceded in death by parents, wife, Argia and sister, Sarah Irene Ake. He is survived by children, James (Donna) Fioramonti, Maria Davisson and partner David Plavan, Sondra Garman and Linda (Jerry) Solnick, 8 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.
