Collison, Frank R. “Duke”

Saginaw, Michigan

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend passed away peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. He was 82 years old. Frank Rodman Collison was born on July 22, 1938 in Saginaw to the late Arthur P. and Louise (Lange) Collison. He graduated from Ss. Peter and Paul High School in 1956. He furthered his education at Delta College, and earned his Associates Degree and he also attended Saginaw Valley State University. While attending Delta he met the love of his life, Mary E. “Betty” Guernsey. They were married on February 4, 1967, and they celebrated 54 wonderful years together. Duke worked for General Motors as a Millwright for 35 years, retiring in 1997. He was a faithful member of St. Helen Catholic Church, now Christ the Good Shepherd – St. Helen Catholic Church. Duke was a member of the Wolga Club. He was a devoted husband and father, and instilled into his family his diligent work ethic.

Duke is survived by his wife, Betty Collison; sons: Robert (Lisa) Collison of Kalamazoo, John (Patty) Collison of Grand Rapids and David Collison of Saginaw; grandchildren: Morgan (Brad) VanOstran, Ian Collison and Gretchen Collison; great grandson, Theodore VanOstran; sisters: Emma Jean Davis and Sally (Robert) Rousseau; many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Duke was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Mary Lou (John) Chasnis, Arthur (Wendy) Collison and Charles C. (Carol) Collison; brother-in-law, Billy Davis; nephews: Donald Davis and Michael Storm; and niece, Jodi Rousseau Dumont.
