Frank Harry Wetzel, went into the Lord”s hands on October 16, 2010 from a heart attack and at home surrounded by his loving wife, Ramona, and daughter Karen. Born on November 11, 1921 (Veteran”s Day) in Jersey City, New Jersey, Frank was a devoted and loving husband, dedicated father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He spent his life with honor, dignity, integrity, love of his country, family, and God. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Wetzel and mother, Elizabeth Wellenheider, daughter Laura Jean Wetzel, great grandson, Tyler Perez, and brothers Johnny and Harold Wetzel. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ramona Wetzel; daughters, Karen Wetzel and Anita Zurell; two granddaughters, Sheri Perez and her husband, Sergio, and Christine Wittkohl; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law from New Jersey, Martha G. Wetzel; several nieces and great nieces and nephews. At an early age, Frank set goals for himself and achieved all of them. He attended Princeton University prior to WWII at which time he joined the Navy. When the war was over, he attended and graduated from Tufts University. He met and fell in love with Ramona when they both were living in South America. Prior to retiring, his positions with Mobil Oil, Union Carbide, and Corco took both of them all over the world. Frank, dad, poppy, grandpa will be in our hearts and memories forever.
