Frank E. Penner, 87, formerly of Detroit, Michigan died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at his home in Sharpsburg, GA. He was born October 25, 1922 in Detroit, MI to the late Frank & Clara Dering Penner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Doetsch Penner. Mr. Penner was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan and was a founding member of St. Philomena Parish in Detroit, MI. He graduated from the University of Detroit with a degree in Business Administration and served in the Army Air Corps during WWII on 51 missions as a gunner on B-24 bomber planes. He retired from General Motors where he worked in the tool procurement department. Survivors include children, Sister Mary Ann Penner IHM, Frances Penner-Ray & husband Robert, Carol Gajewski & husband Jim, Frank Penner & wife Cathy, John Penner & wife Cindy, Jean Balent & husband Andy; sister, Cyrilla Donnelly; and nine grandchildren.
