Frank E. Anderson II, 63, of Virginia, IL died Sunday evening, May 6, 2018, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 7, 1955 in Jacksonville, the son of Frank and Theresa (Peterson) Anderson. He married Nancy Kilby on June 16, 2001 in Virginia and she survives.

He is also survived by two children, Eric (Tara) Anderson of Springfield and Laura (Joe) Willis of LeRoy; five grandchildren, Eric Jr., Ella and Ethan Anderson of Springfield and Isaiah and Isabella Willis of LeRoy; two brothers, John (Paula) Anderson of Oakford and Robert (Sharon Schmitz) Anderson of Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his wife, Nancy’s three children, Joshua (David Colunga) Smith of Dallas, TX, Shannon (Nick) Bridges of Trenton, and Megan (Robert) Wermer of Ashland and her six grandchildren, Connor, Tanner, Rylie and Jackson Bridges of Trenton and Robert “Bert” and Finn Werner of Ashland. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Theresa Fay Wilson.

A 1974 graduate of Virginia High School, Frank later attended Lincoln Land Community College. He also served with the US Army from 1974 to 1978 during the Vietnam Conflict.  He formerly served as a regional sales manager for Lorillard Tobacco in Tennessee, Georgia and Illinois. He later worked several years in auto sales for several central Illinois dealerships including Jacksonville Auto Mart and E.W. Brown in Jacksonville.

Frank was a member of the Virginia Church of Christ and a former Morgan County Chapter Chairman of American Red Cross. He was a devoted Ham Radio operator broadcasting under the call sign, KC9IDX. He worked with the Jacksonville Amateur Radio Club, assisting with Boy Scout events and coordinating emergency services planning.

In his spare time, Frank enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, visiting area wineries, and tinkering with equipment to learn how things operate.
