Frank D. Dauria Jr., age 92 of Hamburg, New York, a former Salem, Ohio resident, died at 5:31 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Elderwood at Hamburg. He was born December 10, 1921 in Wellsville, Ohio, son of the late Frank and Adelina (Siano) Dauria Sr. Frank worked for Lowry Supply in Salem from 1980 to 1984 and previously he was the Mayor of Salem from 1976 to 1980. He was also a City of Salem Councilman from 1968 to 1976 and worked for the Swift and Company from 1951 to 1968. Frank was a 1940 graduate of Cambridge High School and in 1951 he received a B.A. from Muskingum College. He was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, life member of the Knights of Columbus and was Past Grand Knight 1963 to 1965, a former life member of the Salem Elks Lodge #305, and life member of the Salem V.F.W. Post 892. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. He served with the 563rd Signal Aircraft Warning Battalion and received five Battle Stars for being involved in all five European Campaigns. His wife, Helen R. (Tomek) Dauria, whom he married August 28, 1948, preceded him in death on April 17, 1992. Survivors include three sons, James M. (Linda) Dauria of Hamburg, New York, David J. Dauria of Lakewood, Ohio and Michael D. Dauria of Glendale, California; three grandchildren, Christina (Jason) Kalbeck, Mary (Shane) Mockbee and Mark Dauria; and two great grandchildren, Paityn and Logan Mockbee. He was also was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, James and Tony Dauria and two sisters, Johanna Humanek and Anne M.
