Francoise R. Girard, 86, of Mendon Rd., died Monday at the home of her son in N. Smithfield, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Robert R. Girard. Mrs. Girard was born in St. Ignace de Lac, PQ, Canada, a daughter of the late David and Eva (Boucher) Forest. She was the co-owner and operator, along with her husband of 64 years, of the former Bob’s Fountain for fifteen years. She had also worked at the former French Worsted Co. and McCarthy’s Department Store. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Sr. Citizen’s and a former member of St. Joseph’s Choir.

Besides her husband she is survived by four sons Robert A. Girard of Uxbridge, MA, Guy A. Girard of N. Smithfield, Claude J. Girard of Florence, SC, and Arthur J. Girard of Hammonton, NJ, two brothers Arthur Forest and Jean Forest both of Woonsocket, three sisters Marie Dagesse of Burrillville, Therese Paquette of Woonsocket, and Pauline Levesque of N. Smithfield, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Francois and Antoine “Pete” Forest.
