Francis McArdle, 84, died March 8, 2010, at his home. He was born in Northern Ireland and lived in Port St. Lucie, FL for eight years, coming from Warren Point, Northern Ireland. He had served with the British Army in the Far East and was a member of the Star Social Club in Belfast, Ireland. Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Mary (Dutton) Thum-McArdle; sons, Francis McArdle of Northern Ireland, Dennis McArdle of London, Kevin McArdle and Michael McArdle, both of Portland, CT; stepdaughters, Holly Posadas of Ft. Pierce, FL, Gretchen Pond and Sharon Thum-Gebrian, both of Bristol, CT; stepsons, William Thum of Lake City, FL and Ronald Thum of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; five sisters; one brother; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Robert; his sister, Margaret McArdle; and his wife, Kathleen McArdle.
