Francis L. Bouthiette, 84, a lifelong Upton resident, died Monday, November 8, 2010 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after an illness. He was a self-employed carpenter and builder, and the husband of the late Alice R. (Oakham) Bouthiette, who died in 2005.

Mr. Bouthiette was born in Upton, a son of the late Ernest and Mary (Paille) Bouthiette. He was a World War II Navy veteran, who served in the South Pacific on the submarine tender USS Apollo AS-25. An active member, past commander, and trustee of the George L. Wood VFW Post, he was instrumental in building the post’s handicapped ramp. He was also a communicant of Holy Angels Parish and a member of the Upton Men’s Bowling League.

He leaves two daughters, Nancy McDonnell and her husband George of Upton, and Bonnie Bouthiette of Manville, RI; a brother, Norman Bouthiette of Indiana; three grandchildren, Stacie Galicki of Upton, Patrick McDonnell of Whitinsville, and Monica Gagnon of Cumberland, RI; three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Andrew, and Kevin Galicki of Upton; his sister-in-law, Winona Bouthiette of Upton; his extended family and many friends. He was also the brother of the late Richard, Ernest, and Omer Bouthiette.
