Francis B. Mooney was 87 when he passed away April 26th. A proud Korean War Veteran and diehard New York Mets fan, Francis was born in New York City and lived there until he and his late wife Mary Ann (nee Schoenfeld) settled in New Milford in 1955. Prior to retiring in 1985, Francis worked for the MTA for 30 years as a bus mechanic and was a loyal member of the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority Union Local 100. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ann, the loving father of James Mooney, Catherine Elalfi, Joseph Mooney, William Mooney, John Mooney, and Kevin Mooney. He was predeceased by his sisters Cecelia and Helen. Francis was the devoted grandfather of Ericka, Bryan, Joseph, Michael, Alexander, Sean, and Kelly and the great-grandfather of Riley and Evan.
