Francis Avila Morel, 63, of Newington, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 31st 2013. He was born in Hartford to the late Avila and Frances (Mucha) Morel. Francis worked as a case manager for the State of CT, DMR from where he recently retired. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a medic at an EVAC hospital in Vietnam. Francis loved music, especially the guitar, and was an avid golfer and a founding member of Newington’s illustrious “Dirty Dozen” golf group. He was a loving and devoted father whose kind and caring nature will always be fondly remembered. He leaves his beloved children; Miranda Rose Morel of Newington, Samantha Rae Morel and Luke Evan Morel both of Glastonbury, Mariah Jane Morel, Mason Alexander Bruce Morel, and Marisa Lee Feliciano, all of Newington; his grandson Trevor Nelson; his siblings, Joan Jeannette Morel, Gerald John Morel, Roger Roland Morel, Joyce Claire Morel, Allan Luigi Morel, Gail Georgiana Morel, Cynthia Roseanna Morel and Bruce Roy Morel.
