Frances ‘Winnie’ Sampson, 88, passed away on December 23, 2015.
Born in Akron on June 8, 1927 to the late Frank & Goldie Avery, Fran was a 1945 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. Frances was a devoted wife & mother and loved doting on her family. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, cooking, reading, and tending to her flower gardens.
In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Charles ‘Bob’ Sampson in 2011; sister Blanche Callen Meyer; special aunt Marge & uncle Richard Dodge. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael & Pamella Sampson; daughters and sons-in-law Bonnie & Michael Kalla, Rebecca & Alan Miller, and Jennifer & Paul Gruver; grandchildren Julie (Dave) Wingate, John (Kim) Darmstadt, Renee (Brian) Parcell, Aaron Sampson, Lee Miller, Matt (Amanda) Miller, Megan (Ken) Hawkins, Jason Gruver, Tyrone (Amy) Gruver; step-grandson Rob (Mindy) Lawrence; great-grandchildren Bradley, Ashley, Hallie, Luke, Jessica, Austin, Isaac, Lane, Scott, Kelsey, Olivia, Athena, Audrey, Samuel, Michael, Keegan, Isabella, Jonathon, MaKenzie, William, Nathan, Zachery, Abel, Dylila, & Sophia; 14 step-great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren Avrey & Hope and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and therapists at Stow-Glen Retirement Village, as well as Great Lakes Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
