Frances S. Bryant, age 83 of Newnan, passed away Monday, January 17, 2011, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. She was born in Aiken, SC on February 15, 1927, to the late Frank & Minnie O’Banion Sorgee.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Newnan, GA.
Ms. Bryant is survived by her daughter, Jennie & Wayne Jackson; sons, Donnie & Pam Bryant and Ronnie & JoAnn Bryant all of Newnan; grandchildren, Michael & Rebecca Jackson, Corinne Jackson, Kendall Ward, and Scott Whitley; and great-grandchild, Austin Ward. She was a graduate of Aiken South Carolina High School and was a member of the nurse cadet program offered by the US Army during WWII.
After the war ended Mrs. Bryant graduated from the University Hospital School of Nursing in Augusta, GA. Mrs. Bryant was an RN with Dr. Ben Jenkins in Newnan and retired from Newnan Hospital after several years of service.
