Mrs. Christmann was born June 11, 1930 in Jonesville to Julius and Emilie (Ketels) DeFoer. She attended LaSalle-Peru High School. She married Joseph Paul Christmann on December 28, 1950 in Norfolk, VA. He passed away on March 29, 2021.
Mrs. Christmann was a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and taking care of her home and family. Her greatest joy was her family life and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Joseph (Shari) Christmann Jr. of Dalzell and Denise (James) Kaszynski and Richard (Wendy) Christmann both of Oglesby; eight grandchildren, Sarah Bernardi, Kristen Witalka, Jessica Chase, Zachary Christmann, Rachel Kaszynski, Lisa Kaszynski, Austin Christmann and Michael Kaszynski; three great-grandchildren, Flynn Bernardi, Olivia Christmann and Sophia Witalka; several nieces and nephews and her caregiver, Jamie Thomas of Oglesby.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Laura Kasprowicz and two brothers, Maurice and Henry DeFoer.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
