Frances Mary (Bocchetta) Galati, age 80 of Custer, South Dakota, passed away on February 13, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter in Plymouth, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Charles Galati and the beloved companion and best friend for thirty-five years to Ken Barfoot of Custer, SD. She was the loving mother of Charles Galati and his wife GerryLynn of Falmouth, MA, Donna Brady and her husband Chris of Anderson, SC, Ramona Martel and her husband Edward of Plymouth, MA and the late William Dean Galati and Dorothy Lane. She was the cherished grandmother of Cheryl Silva, Charles Jr., Newman and Maria Galati, C. Grant and Emily Grace Brady, Amber, Anthony and Kimberly Martel. She leaves thirteen great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Ann Dayton, Barbara King, and Joanne Bocchetta and the late Anthony, Gloria, Mary Ann, Catherine, and Dorothy.Frances was born on May 25, 1938 in Perth Amboy, NJ to Anthony and Helen (Zaczek) Bocchetta. She was a 1956 graduate of South River High School in South River, NJ. She spent the next twenty-four years as a military wife, traveling with her husband who was in the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1979. Upon Arthur’s retirement, he and Frances moved to Custer, SD. Frances was a devout catholic. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the VFW, Hospital Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary. She devoted much of her life to volunteering for many different organizations that she held close to her heart, such as, Meals on Wheels, Colonial Manor Nursing Home, and the Senior Center where she contributed in making pies for their Soup and Pie Luncheons. Frances loved to cook and eat her pasta. She especially enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
