Frances Carolyn (Bridges) Brown, 94, passed away peacefully at Countryside Manor in Stokesdale, NC on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

Frances was born in Randolph County and graduated top of her class at Bennett High School. She was a faithful and active member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Bennett, NC and Saving Grace Baptist Church. Frances was happy serving the Lord in many capacities-Sunday School teacher, choir member, Bible school director, ladies fellowship, singing alto in a gospel quartet alongside her husband, and a member of many church committees. Her desire was to praise God for His blessings and share His love.

Frances worked most of her career with General Electric and Black & Decker in Asheboro. In her younger years she enjoyed tending a large vegetable garden and working in the yard. Frances was an avid reader, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and all types of word puzzles. She was fiercely interested in learning, often winning trivia contests and spelling bees in her retirement community. Frances will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John Thomas Brown and brothers, Raymond Hutchins, and Jack Taylor. Frances is survived by her daughter, Carolyn A. Clubb (Ranny) of Kernersville, son, Michael Brown (Connie) of Frankfort, IN, grandchildren, Craig Brown (Julie) of Hendersonville, TN, DeAnna Oates (Lindwood) of Brown Summit, and Johnathon Brown (Alicia) of Frankfort, IN. Great-grandchildren, Adam Oates, Eli, Silas and Chloe Brown, Leo Brown, 3 step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-great grandchild.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to her caregivers for their loving care, allowing Frances to remain independent and live a productive life as long as was possible. Also the wonderful caring members of AuthoraCare Hospice in Greensboro and the fine staff of Countryside Manor.
