Frances A. Beavers, 93, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville.

She was born March 30, 1925 in Virginia, IL, the daughter of George Grover and Nola D. Hacker Clement.  She married James A. “Jonesy” Beavers on February 9, 1947 in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1990.

She is survived by four children, Randy Beavers (Janet) of Petersburg, Patty Gish of Jacksonville, Marie Dillinger (Ken) of Sterling, CO, and Doris Craner (John) of Riverton; seven grandchildren, Bryan Beavers of Springfield, Heather English (Ian) of Jacksonville, Jodie Fernandes (Kevin) of Murrayville, Jamie Gish (Michelle) of Woodson, Jeris Austin (John) of Springfield, Jim Craner of Riverton, and Katie Luckey (Matt) of Peoria; 11 great grandchildren, Liam and Claire Beavers, Charlie and Hilary English, Brian and Aspen Gish, Terry and Tyler Fernandes, and Kiara, Kayleigh and Kerrigan Luckey; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, John Gish; a brother, Roy Clement; two sisters, Verna Alcorn and Georgia Houston; and a nephew, Ed Houston, who was raised in the family home.

A graduate of Virginia High School, Frances worked during WW II at the munitions plants in both Illiopolis, IL and St. Louis, MO.  She also was employed at different times for J. Capps & Son and Hertzberg New Method Book Bindery.  Her greatest passion was devoted to homemaking and motherhood.

She was a life-long and dedicated member of Liter Baptist Church, where she was formerly involved with the Ladies Aid.  Frances loved flower gardening, preparing meals, and spending time with her family.
