Floyd N. Hanie, Sr. of Sharpsburg, GA. passed away September 29th, 2016 with his loving wife by his side. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1952. In 1955, he married the love of his life, Betty J. Hanie. They were inseparable from the moment they were married. They worked together at Floyd’s Service Garage for 30 years until they moved to Sharpsburg, GA. to be with the only child.
He is preceded in death by his only child, Floyd N. Hanie, Jr.,father John W. Hanie, mother, Birtha Frady, brother, Seaborn Weaver, granddaughter, Emily Grace Hanie, daughter-in-law, Megan McLeod-Hanie, grandsons, Kyle and Max Godwin and nephew Johnny Weaver and family. In 2010, his only son Floyd N. Hanie, Jr. became a father to his only granddaughter, Emily Grace Hanie. Emily was his heart and soul and the greatest joy of Floyd and Betty’s life. He will be missed by so many family and friends. He was always known for his kindness, loving, caring and honesty. He was a very giving person and never met a stranger.
