Floyd L. Collins, 71, of Flemingsburg, KY passed away Wednesday Morning October 16, 2013, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Floyd was born in Fleming County on September 23, 1942, to the late Fred and Gertrude Collins Marshall.

Floyd retired after 42 years of service from Fleming-Mason RECC where he had worked as a lineman and crew leader. He was a very active member of Flemingsburg Baptist Church.

Floyd loved sports, he was a little league baseball and basketball coach and had inspired many young people in Fleming County. He loved watching his Fleming County Panthers and the Kentucky Wildcats compete in any sport. Floyd was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He just loved being in nature.

Floyd had many wonderful friends and was loved by all that knew him. His smile was contagious and will not soon be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Bill Collins.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 50 years Patsy Rose Collins; daughters: Angie (Mike) Kendrach, and Mary Dan (Chris) Haney; son: Derek (Megan) Collins; granddaughter: Harper Leigh Collins; Sisters: Jackie (Billy) Corbin, Eda (Ronnie) Earlywine, June Tatum, Judy Allison & Vickie Meade; several nieces & nephews.
