Floyd Harlan Murray was born January 27, 1929 to Arthur Louis Murray and Opal (Reynolds) Murray in Nebraska City, Nebraska. He passed from this life February 25, 2015 at his home in Chariton, Iowa at 86 years of age.

Floyd grew up in Nebraska City, Nebraska during his elementary school years. His family moved to Cambria, Iowa where he  graduated with the high school Class of 1946. In 1949, he graduated from the AIB College in Des Moines, Iowa. On September 27, 1953, Floyd married Charlotte Little in Washington, Iowa. To this union, they were blessed with two sons, Dan and Robert Brian.

Floyd worked at Solar Aircraft in Des Moines, Iowa for a while. Eventually, he moved back to the farm in1954. After nine years of farming he moved to Chariton, Iowa and started working in the printing shop at  Hy-Vee.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Louis and Opal (Reynolds) Murray; his great grand -daughter, Cadence Paige Murray; his brother-in-law, Byron Bay; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Stanley Wallace; brother-in-law, Calvin Little; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Darlene Little; and his father and mother-in-law, John and Ferne Little.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Murray of Chariton, Iowa; his children, Dan (Karen) Murray of West Point, Iowa and Robert Brian Murray of Chariton, Iowa; his grandchildren, Tyrel (Jeni) Murray of Altoona, Iowa, Owen (Trish) Murray of Winterset, Iowa, Chelsea (Martin) Hill of Dexter, Iowa;his great grandchildren, Trent and Kal Murray of Altoona, Iowa, Sadie and George Hill of Dexter, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
