Floyd “Dale” Haddix, age 83, of Gay Street, Grafton, passed away Monday, January 09, 2012, at Ruby Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Grafton, September 18, 1928, a son of the late Melvin and Gladys (Thompson) Haddix. His wife, Grace “Darlene” (Plott) Haddix, survives, they were united in marriage June 25, 1953.

Dale was a 1947 graduate of Grafton High School, he was a Korean War veteran having served in the US Army. He was a member of the Blueville Church of Christ and the Grafton BPOE Lodge #308; a past member of the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, and the American Legion Taylor County Post #12. He enjoyed bowling and was on a league for many years, he also was an avid WVU and Steelers football fan.

In addition to his wife he is survived by: two daughters, Debra Haddix, of Jacksonville, FL, and Diana Davis and husband Tim, of Grafton; three grandchildren, Jimmy Davis, of Charleston, WV, Matt Davis, of Huntington, WV, and Mandy Davis, of Morgantown, WV; one honorary grandson, Lincoln Mick, of Orange Park Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Dale was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Haddix and Donald Haddix; and one sister Goldie Williams.
