Floyd Claus, age 93, formerly of Salem, died at 12:07 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Gracewoods Senior Living in Niles. He was born August 27, 1921 in Lewisville, Ohio to the late Leroy and Anna (Kilburn) Claus. Floyd served in the WWII U.S. Army, receiving an American Theater Ribbon; EAME Theater Ribbon w/2 Bronze Stars; Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon; Good Conduct Ribbon; and World War II Victory Medal. He worked at Mullins Manufacturing for 25 years, and then joined American Standard as a spot welder for 11 years and then retiring. He was a former member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Lewisville, Ohio His wife Opal (Lockhart) Claus whom he married February 25, 1945, preceded him in death June 3, 2000. Survivors include one daughter Connie Wright McIntosh of Portersville, PA; one sister, Elvira Stimpert of Lewisville, Ohio; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Bonnie Claus; and one brother, Bernard Claus.
