Floyd ‘Buddy’ Barrrett, 82, lifetime Deming resident passed away Saturday evening October 8, 2011 at his home.
He was born March 29, 1929 in Deming to Floyd and Ola Magee Barrett. Floyd attended Deming Public Schools and went to serve his country in the U. S. Navy at an early age. His family spent some time in Washington State and spent most of his life working in auto mechanics in Deming. He attended Bethel Baptist Church and was married to Mildred Bernice Barrett for 60 years before her passing November 9, 2009.
Survivors include sons, Brad and wife Chigusa Barrett of Deming and Floyd Barrett; daughters, Ola Suggs of Deming, Judy Lacy and husband Jim of Alto; sister, Betty Jane Manlove, of Angel Fire. Grandchildren, Sarah and Victoria Barrett, Johanna Lanham, Michael Suggs, Susan Varela, Emily, Evan and Andy Barrett and Jonathan, Bradley and Jessica Lacy and 10 great-grandchildren.
