He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry W. and Anna E. (Ankeney) McCarty; wife, Opal in 2002; his brother, Harold in 1997; and a sister, Edna.
Floyd worked as a lineman and in the installation department at the West Union Telegraph Company, retiring in 1979.
