Knightstown: Florence Lavohn “AUNTY” Reger, 98, a 30 year resident of Knightstown, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday October, 3, 2009 at the Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield. She was born on September 29, 1911 in rural Hancock County, IN the daughter of Robert B. and Verna Bessie (Morris) Jackson. On March 17, 1934 in Cumberland IN, she married Arlie C. Reger whom preceded her in death on December 4, 1981.
Florence lived an amazing life serving Jesus Christ, her Savior. She evangelized for Christ even in CrownPoint where she resided in assisted living for two years, and while in Brandywine Nursing Home on four different times rehabiblitating after two broken hips and pneumonia until her voice was silenced by a stroke in early September. Florence graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1929 and was hired at Delco Remy in Anderson, that same month; Florence contenued to working there until the end of WWII.
