She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jack C. Sims,. She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Thurmond; and two sons, Michael Sims (Angela) and William H. Sims (Sue); all of Georgia. She is survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her surviving siblings include two sisters, Sue Nix (Jimmy) and Evelyn Binsz(Darald); and two brothers, Dan Cornell( Sandra) and Glenn Cornell (Jena), all of Georgia . Florence is also survived by her sisters in law, Geneva Elwell and Jane Sims, both of Helen as well as a host of loving nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by three siblings, sister Charlotte Turner (Arthur) of Dunwoody, Georgia; sister, Doris Ruth Cathey ( Ross) of Helen and brother, Larry Cornell ( Arlene) of Hagerstown, Maryland
