FISHERDURHAM Mr. L. R. “Buck” Fisher, Jr., 84, of 613 Starmont Drive, died on Monday, September 4, . Fisher was a native of Durham, the son of the late L. R. Fisher, Sr. and Larah Elizabeth Odum. He served in the U. S. Navy during World II. After retiring from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company he moved to Harkers Island where he loved to fish. He was a member of Guess Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet C. is survived by his son, Randy Fisher and wife, Betty of Hillsborough; daughter, Sandy Gentry and husband, Al of Durham; one brother, Ross Fisher and one sister, Ruth Riggs both of Durham and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
