Fernando Cedric Jones was born on May 7, 1957, in Gadsden, Alabama to his parents, Amzie Jones and Fannie E. Stevens Jones. He received his formal education in Alabama; graduating from Litchfield High School in 1974. On March 23, 1978, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served with honor and distinction and was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class. Fernando was currently employed with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was a Supply Technician. He was hardworking, dedicated and a man who performed his duties with a spirit of excellence. He displayed an intimidating look but offered a big smile when face to face with others.
