Fernande “Fern” (Boissonneau) Roy, 101 of Plainville, beloved wife of Regis Roy, died peacefully on Saturday May 5, 2018 at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley, where she resided for only the last six months of her long and independent life.

Fern was born October 10, 1916 in Inverness, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Mary Anne (St. Pierre) Boissonneau. The family emigrated from Canada to New Britain in 1923 and in 1940 she married Regis Roy and later moved to Plainville, where she resided for 70 years, raising a son and daughter. She was a member of the St. Ann’s Society of St.

She is survived by her son Roger and his wife Antoinette (Iacovazzi) Roy of New Hartford, her son-in-law William Jones and her loving grandsons Kevin and Jonathan of Waterbury and many nephews and nieces. She was sadly predeceased by her husband Regis in 1994 and her daughter Patricia in 1985 as well as her four brothers George, Lucien, Herve, Roland and her sister Claire Paradis.
