Fern Little passed away on February 5, 2016. She was 88 years old.
Fern was born March 15, 1927 to Veda and Edwin Bateman in Montpelier, Idaho. She was the only girl in the family of five; her four brothers, Dean, Darrel, Paul and Keith.
Fern spent most of her growing up years in Shoshone, Idaho. Later, the family moved to Nampa, Idaho where she graduated from high school in 1947. While at high school, she met Lester Glen Little. They were married on August 22, 1948. They moved to Boise for work, and lived there ever since.
Their only child, Kathy Marie, was born on her Mother’s birthday, March 15.
Fern worked at Boise Fruit and Produce, and later at Bonded Frozen Food. She retired in 1995.
Fern enjoyed bowling; she was on numerous bowling league teams. She received many trophies, which later decorated her home. She also enjoyed playing pinochle, knitting, reading and crafts.
Fern will be missed for her friendliness and humor, but will be in our hearts forever.
Fern is survived by her daughter Kathy Marie Little Baker, husband Glenn E. Baker; grandson’s Jefferey P. Baker, Bryan G. Baker and wife Beth; great grandchildren Bonnie Scot, Charlotte Rose, and William Glenn; and Fern’s brother, Paul Bateman.
Kathy would like to thank Mom’s caregivers Dr. Poinier, Dr. Leis, St. Luke’s Hospice and the staff at Grace Assisted Living. You are all in my heart for the care of my Mom.
