Fern E. Fruchey, 98, of Osceola, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Woodland Manor in Elkhart.
She was born Dec. 26, 1914, in Havre, Mont., to Sanford D. and Alta N. (McDowell) Mast.
Survivors include three daughters, Beverly King of San Antonio, Texas, Sherry (Larry) Moore of Elkhart and Illene (Ron) Cripps of Marcellus, Mich.; two sons, Larry (Vicky) Fruchey of Elkhart and John (Sally) Fruchey of Osceola; brother Leslie C. Mast of Elkhart; 15 grandchildren, Ruth King of San Antonio, John King of Decatur, Mich., Traci Bickel of Elkhart, Shawn Moore of Elkhart, Terry (Barb) Martin of Battle Creek, Mich., Lisa (Rich) Herr of Paw Paw, Mich., Michelle Boyer of Marcellus, Brian Cripps of Schoolcraft, Mich., Dave (Cindy) Agnew of Mason, Mich., Chad (Annie) Fruchey, Chris (Mike) Cooper and Angie Fruchey, all of Elkhart, Todd (Amy) Fruchey of Indianapolis, Missy (Chris) Higgins of Mitchell and Tracy (Joe) Gennicks of Granger; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Fruchey, and a brother, Glen A. Mast.
Fern was employed with Adams & Westlake Ltd. for nearly 25 years prior to her retirement. She often enjoyed traveling extensively, visiting every state in the U.S. and every continent except Asia.
