Fern Diane Regina, 74, of LaSalle, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, surrounded by her family. Fern was born on February 18, 1948, in Spring Valley, one of eight children born to Edward and Bernice (Safranski) Gorisek.
She married John L. Regina Jr. on December 20, 1969, at the Chapel of Happiness in San Diego, CA. Fern was well known for her humanitarianism and the instant impression she left on anyone she met. A two-time breast cancer survivor, she lived for her family. She was our matriarch and will be missed beyond measure. In earlier years, Fern enjoyed fishing with her husband and bringing home the catch to cook up for the family to enjoy. She loved animals and visiting the zoo. She appreciated art and was a Michael Jackson fan. She also liked to travel.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, John; two daughters, Bernice (Richard) Albin of Omaha, NE, and Nancy (Dana) Goggil of Ray City, GA; grandchildren, Joshua Maggio, Ryan Miller, Gabriel Van Buren, Gracie Goggil and Jake Opsal; great-granddaughter, Semblance Miller and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, John Regina III.
