Federico R. Rodriguez “Whip” as he was affectionately known, 83, of San Lorenzo, NM passed away May 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. “Whip” was born March 6, 1934 in San Lorenzo, NM to Francisco and Maria Rodriguez. He worked at Chino Mines for 32 years before retiring. He enjoyed ranching, hunting, camping and picnics with his family.
Federico is survived by his wife of 61 years, Erminia; three sons, Ruben Montoya (Althea) of Albuquerque, Ricardo Rodriguez of San Lorenzo and Francisco Rodriguez (Phyllis) of Lathrop, CA; four daughters, Beatrice Gonzales (Gilbert) of Silver City, Mary Helen Rodriguez of San Lorenzo, Lorraine Rodriguez of Silver City and Agatha Rodriguez of Tucson, AZ; also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cora Salaiz and Esther Rodriguez of Silver City; a special cousin Domingo Misquez of Deming. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Manuel Rodriguez; four sisters, Ascencion Placencio, Lucinda Martinez, Lucia Holguin and Julia Parra.
