Faye Atkins Perry, 93, of Durham passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. She was born April 18, 1925 to parents Jodie Hanes Atkins & Julia Eva Atkins. She worked at Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company for 42 years, retiring in July of 1985. She was an active member of Grove Park Chapel and enjoyed teaching Sunday school and keeping the nursery. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her wonderful cooking, her biscuits and lemon meringue pie were world famous. Known to many as “Aunt Faye” or “Grandma Faye” she never met a stranger and used every opportunity she had to tell others the saving grace of the gospel. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Perry; brothers, Aubrey Atkins, Joe Atkins, Ralph Atkins, and John Atkins. Also by her sisters Myra Shepherd, Mildred Burgess, Ruth Parish, and Hazel Thomasson. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Wanda Corr, Dana Perry, and Carol Holder (Randall), her grandchildren: Sarah Sherron (Jeff), Shelly Kinder (Kyle), Brittany Perry, Lindsey Perry, Justin Perry, and Myra Holder. Her Great-Grandchildren: Jackson Sherron, Carter Kinder, Lena Kinder, and several nieces and nephews.m.m.
