Evert T. Orebaugh, 89, Anderson, passed away April 14, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

He was born June 25, 1921 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson all of his life. He was a 1939 graduate of Anderson High School. Evert served his country as a Captain in the Army during WWII. He was a lifetime farmer. He helped bring in the 2010 harvest and has now gone on to a better land. Evert was an active member of Whetstone Christian Church, where he served as the past chairman of the church board, trustee, and Sunday School teacher of the Wedding Ring class.

He is survived by his children, Bill Orebaugh of Colorado, Robert Nancy Orebaugh of Anderson and Becky Roger Jacobs of Pendleton; grandchildren, Rodney Patty Jacobs, Ryan Lorri Jacobs, Molly Dodge, Katie Josh Hackney, Brent Orebaugh, and Julia Orebaugh; great grandchildren, Joseph Jacobs, Daniel Jacobs, Gabriel Jacobs, Abigail Jacobs, Zachary Jacobs, Adriane Orebaugh, Eli Dodge, and Seth Hackney; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin F. & Florence Mae Harmeson Orebaugh; wife of 62 years, Betty Gilmore Orebaugh who passed away November 18, 2005; and siblings, Rupert Orebaugh, Helena Orebaugh, Trilda Mikels and Enid James.
