Everett S. Armstrong, Jr., 84, of Jacksonville, died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at Passavant Area Hospital.
He was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Jacksonville, the son of Everett S., Sr. and Cressie Dyer Armstrong. He married Ann L. Ryan on Nov. 20, 1948, in Troy, MO, and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters and three sons, Caroline Bartz of Murrayville, Robert (Rhonda) Armstrong of Huntsville, David Armstrong of Jacksonville, Aileen Klein of Ennis, MT, and Paul (Debbie) Armstrong of New Berlin; twelve grandchildren, Phil Bartz and Todd Bartz (Hope Warrick), both of Murrayville, Kristy (Kendall) Bollin of Bowen, J.R. (Ali) Armstrong of La Prairie, Betsy (Joe) Hutchison of Jacksonville, Katie (Brian) Mailey of Long Beach, CA, Millie Armstrong (Jon Braxton) of Bozeman, MT, Tiffany (Brian) Stoller of Palisade, NE, Jeff (Betty) Klein of Ennis, MT, Rachel (Jeff) Wright of Rockbridge, Luke (Katie) Armstrong of Pleasant Plains and Evan Armstrong (Katie Rawlings) of Jacksonville; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Becky Bartz and Lisa Armstrong; and two brothers, John Armstrong and Robert Armstrong.
Mr. Armstrong was a 1943 graduate of Jacksonville High School. He farmed in the Jacksonville area his entire life. He enjoyed farming and loved his family.
