           Elva “Evelyn” Williams was born in Winona, Mississippi on July 19, 1927 to Mr. Abraham Lincoln  Applewhite and Maude Purnell Applewhite.

             Evelyn received her education in the Carroll County Public Schools. At an early age of 18, Evelyn met her husband, Ernest Williams and married in 1943. Years later Mrs. Williams relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she worked at Metairie Hospital for many years.

             In the late 80’s, Evelyn relocated to Indianapolis,   Indiana to be with her family.

            Elva “Evelyn” Williams was preceded in death by both of her parents, Mr. Abraham and Mrs. Maude Applewhite; brothers, Issac and Elsie Applewhite; sisters, Jessie Mae Johnson and Annek Reese Applewhite; and her favorite cousin Lettie Purnell.

            Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Anna Lee Forrest; daughter, Ada B. Jeffries; son, Laddarro “June” Flemings; grandchildren, Brandy Jefferies, Altine Stephanie “Odine” Jefferies Marshall; great-grandchildren, Gregory, Xavier, K-Moni, Kallea, Jaguar, Kearra, and a host of nieces, nephews and many more family members and friends.
