On November 4, 1949, Lynn married her soul mate, John Gernaat, Jr. Lynn was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo where spanning over 60 years she assisted John with the family business of farming celery, hot house tomatoes, and bedding plants. John and Lynn were especially known for their beautiful tomato plants they tended to every spring and graciously shared with family and friends.
