Evelyn M. Pelley Phillips, age 96, of Boardman, former resident of Salem, died at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Shepard of the Valley in Boardman. She was born April 24, 1920, in East Liverpool, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Cunningham) McMillen.
Evelyn was member of the First Christian Church and a member of Amaranth, Salem and Lisbon Order of Eastern Star, and Jobe Daughters.
She was an organist, seamstress, enjoyed music and gardening, and served as a Girl Scout leader.
Her husband, Kenneth M. Pelley, whom she married September 6, 1944, preceded her in death on April 16, 1997; a daughter, Judy Owens, a grandchild, Michael; and a sister, Mildred Cunningham, also preceded
her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Becky (Joseph) DeVille of Struthers and Brenda (John) Klein of Boardman; four grandchildren, Daniel DeVille, Amy Tucker, Matthew Taylor, and Phil Taylor; and six great grandchildren.
