Evelyn (Evie) M. Giska, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2012 at the Greenleaf Health Center in Elkhart, IN due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on January 25, 1925 in Chicago, IL to the late Andrew and Rose (Skotnicki) Ciszon. She married Edwin J. Giska on September 25, 1946 in Chicago, IL. Her loving husband of 37 years preceded her in death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by her long-time companion, Edward Gundeck, of Nappanee, IN in 2003.
Survivors are sons Ron (Barb) Giska, Elkhart, IN and Wayne Giska, Lawrenceburg, IN; daughter Pat (Tom) Jones, Murrieta, CA; and son Scott (Jeri) Giska of Lawrenceburg, IN. Evelyn is also survived by Jeanie Giska of Louisville, KY and her ten grandchildren, Nikki (Brian) Ramer, Neal Giska, Keith (Lisa) Baker, Tony (Lydia) Giska, Brad (Kate) Giska, Dan Jones, Chris (Amanda) Jones, Shannon (Bob) Gassman, Nate Giska, and Ben Giska. Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Ethan, Ella and Lucas Ramer, Enzo Giska and Landon and Lydia Baker.
Evie was an Administrative Assistant to her husband Ed at Nappanee Chrysler Plymouth and then served thousands of very happy dining guests for over 25 years at Amish Acres. Her Catholic faith and loving family were always her top priorities and she was a lifelong member of St.
