Evelyn M. Roberts Blount, 89, Anderson, died October 8, 2011, at Meadowbrooke Rehab Center & Suites in Anderson. She was born January 26, 1922, in Indianapolis, and lived in the Anderson area except for a short time spent in Florida.
Evelyn worked for a telephone answering service in Anderson for twenty-five years. Survivors include her son, Robert A. Blount VaRae of Alexandria; two sisters, Virginia Lynville of Leesburg, FL and Carol Murphy of Clearwater, FL; two grandchildren, Eric J. Blount Stephanie & Myken Moore Kelly; three great-grandchildren, Braxton Moore and Roman & Eva Blount; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Meadowbrook Rehab.
She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on January 23, 1946, John Victor Blount, in 2006; parents, Robert M. & Maggie Mae Batts Roberts; and siblings, Roy Roberts, Richard Lee Roberts & Ruth Cantrell.
