Evelyn “Lynn” M. Stonecipher, 91, of Centralia, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born on July 7, 1929 in Shobonier, Illinois, daughter of Dudley and Ella (Klukis) Benefiel. She married Bob Stonecipher on June 1, 1948 and he survives in Centralia.

In addition to her husband of 72 years, Bob Stonecipher of Centralia, a son: Brad Stonecipher and wife Susan of Wildwood, Missouri; a daughter: Connie Hensley of Centralia; three grandsons: Blake Stonecipher, Will Stonecipher of Wildwood, Missouri and Jason Hensley of Centralia; a brother: Jack Benefiel and wife Pat of Bethalto and a sister-in-law: Erika Benefiel of Orlando, Florida; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a nephew.

Mrs. Stonecipher moved to Centralia in 1946 from Vandalia, Illinois. She worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company and later as a secretary for Allstate Insurance Company.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia, former ambassador at Kaskaskia College and a member of the Women of the Moose.
