TORRINGTON – Evelyn Lorraine Dickey, 91, of Torrington, CT and formerly of Clearfield, PA and Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully Friday, August 19, 2016, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving May 16, 1925 in Kittanning, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Rhoda (Jones) Brown of Mahaffey, PA. She attended Mahaffey High School and was elected May Queen of her class. She was also the Captain of the Girl’s Basketball team and a member of the cheerleading squad. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Vance F. Dickey. She is survived by her daughters, Bonniejean Coudriet of Winsted, CT, and Sherie Power Giordano, of Winchester Center, CT; and, out of 10 siblings, she is survived by one sister, Sylvia Rich of Moline, IL and one brother Curt Brown of Mahaffey, PA. She is also survived by six loving grandchildren, Gigette (Dom) Coudriet Ursone; Michael (Lisa) Coudriet, Patrick (Melissa) Power, Benjamin (Amy) Power, Megan Power and Joseph Power; and five wonderful great-grand children, Mason and Bryce Coudriet and Greyson, Brailey and Marella family would like to thank the entire 4th floor medical team at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital who attended to our Mother with such dignity and love the week prior to her passing. Also, thank you to her VNA Northwest hospice nurse Kara, who also helped make her final days comfortable.
