Evelyn Henning, 98, formerly of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Phoebe Richland Health Care, Richlandtown. She was the wife of the late John J. G. Henning, who died in 1984. Born in Catasauqua, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Helen (Paff) Benner. She graduated from Allentown High School in 1934, and was a devoted mother to her family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and needlework, but mostly loved being with her family. Evelyn was a lifelong member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Allentown. Survivors: daughter Debra Buckner and her husband Stephen of Sellersville; sons Richard Henning and his wife Mary of Bethlehem, Kermit Henning and his wife JoAnn of Mechanicsburg, John Henning and his wife Sharon of Lower Macungie; daughter-in-law Jean Henning of Bethlehem; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by a son, Wayne D. Henning, in 2009, and a sister and 2 brothers.
