Evangeline “Van” Ruth Lynn was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away after suffering several years of health issues on January 26, 2022 at age 72.
She was born to Joseph and Pauline Askey on September 14, 1949 in Cumberland, Md. After graduating from high school in Dallas, Van attended Texas Woman’s University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She met her husband, Robert, in Texas and they were married in Dallas in 1972. Together, they had 3 children: Christopher, Carson and Casey.
In her early years Van was active in the Salvation Army where she sang in the Songsters, played in the band and worked at their Texas youth camp for three summers. She enjoyed the challenges of nursing especially in the emergency department.
Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Pauline Askey. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert; son Chris of Aurora, Co; son Carson and wife Elizabeth and grandkids Cameron and wife Madelyn, Emma, Julia and Catherine of Willow Springs, NC; and son Casey and wife Allyse and grandkids Evan, Brendon, Caden, Sean, Jaxon and Austin of Aurora, Co; brother Vernon and wife Beverly of Pooler, Ga.
